The History of Sic Bo

The history of Sic Bo dates back hundreds of years to ancient China. The exact origin of the game can’t be determined however we know that it was the Chinese immigrants who brought the game over to Europe and North America, bringing a piece of their tradition and heritage with them. The name Sic Bo, when translated, literally means “dice pair”. This is interesting since the game is played with three dice. Because of this, some believe that early forms of the game were played using two dice and that the third came later. Some also say that there may be a relationship between this game and the American favorite, “Grand Hazard”, where many similarities can be found.

Sic Bo, compared to other popular casino games, is relatively new to the casinos of Atlantic City and Las Vegas. Obviously very popular in China and other Asian countries, this game is gaining in popularity around Europe and North America and the with the technologies of the world wide web, gamblers the world over are jumping on the Sic Bo band wagon and enjoying the easy and exciting game from anywhere they are comfortable. Part of this popularity increase is partly due to the coolest feature of the game, which creates excitement and attracts so many interested players, the Sic Bo table itself. Its design is quite intriguing and intricate but easy to follow and when the dice are thrown, the winning areas on the table will light up, making it especially appealing when you have a winning bet you there.
